My Fellow Pickmerians
As we approach Christmas, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes to every one of you. Christmas is a time for reflection, gratitude, and community, and it is in this spirit that I write to you today.
2024 has been a year of both challenges and achievements for our village. Together, we have continued to build a strong, vibrant, and improved community. I want to thank all the volunteers, local groups, and residents who have dedicated their time and energy to improving our lives in Pickmere. Whether you maintain our beautiful environment, support local initiatives, or simply look out for a neighbour, your efforts make a palpable difference.
We have achieved so much this year improving our aging assets, delivering on our commitment to upgrade the children’s playground and working with a multidisciplinary group to start putting changes in place to reduce the anti-social behaviour we have suffered for many years. While we can never “put the genie back in the lamp” we will continue to develop our strategies depending on which measures work best and which don’t.
The Parish Council remains committed to serving the best interests of our village. As we plan for the year ahead, we welcome your ideas and input. Pickmere is a special place, and together, we can ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.
As you gather with family and friends this Christmas, may your celebrations be filled with joy, peace, and love. Let us take this time to appreciate all that we share as a community and look forward to a bright New Year.
On behalf of the Parish Council, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
With warm regards,
Ewan
