AGENDA ITEM 7.4 ANNUAL SALARY AWARD TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES 2022-23
1. REPORT
1.1 At your April 2022 meeting you approved payment to your Clerk of the national salary award for 2021-22, which included a small back payment for the year 2021-22. The award is incorporated in the salary currently paid to your Clerk of £4041 for the year 2022-23.
1.2 The local government pay award for 2022-23 has now been agreed nationally, with effect from 1st April 2022. This means that the Clerk’s hourly rate (on his current salary scale) increases from £11.05 to £12.06, and on a full year basis of 420 hours (35 hours per month) means an increase over the year of £424.20, or £35.35 per calendar month.
1.3 This figure has been included in the projected financial outturn figures for 2022-23 already considered on this agenda, and in the budget for 2023-24, together with a further allowance for the 2023-24 pay award which is likely to follow during that year.
2. RECOMMENDATION
2.1 That the report be noted and that the Clerk’s salary for 2022-23 be amended to reflect the national pay award.
