AGENDA ITEM 7.3 PICKMERE COMMUNITY GROUP – PROPOSED FUNDING OF VILLAGE SIGNS
1. REPORT
1.1 Members will recall that authority has been given for the purchase and installation of
replacement Pickmere signs at the three main entrances to the village at a cost of approximately
£1100. These items have been ordered and delivery is awaited.
1.2 Subsequently Pickmere Community Group has offered a donation to the Parish Council to help
pay for these signs “as a further commitment to re-invest our funds in the parish. As this
purchase is necessary because Cheshire East are without funds and to protect the village
precept we feel this gesture is effectively for the benefit of all residents and a significant
improvement over what exists.”
1.3 It is proposed that this offer be accepted with thanks.
2. RECOMMENDATION
2.1 That Pickmere Community Group’s offer of a donation to help pay for the village signs be
accepted and that the Council’s thanks be conveyed to the Group.
