REPORT TO PICKMERE PARISH COUNCIL

7th June 2022

AGENDA ITEM 9.2 ERECTION OF VILLAGE BOUNDARY SIGNS

1. REPORT

1.1 Members will recall the reports that Cllr Bold has given to Council about the conflicting and often unhelpful advice given by CEC in relation to enquiries as to the possibility of erecting village boundary signs. A further communication has been received from CEC as follows:

Costs for boundary signs
You can expect to pay a minimum of £1,000 for us to make the signs and put them up. The cost depends on the number and size of signs, the number of new posts needed, and how quickly you want the signs.

You may also need to pay for temporary traffic lights or other measures needed to protect workers putting up the signs.

There is a non-refundable deposit to cover our assessment of where signs could go and what work will be needed to erect them.

Non-refundable deposit for boundary signs
1 sign – £300
2 signs – £500
Each extra sign – £100

1.2 Cllr Bold will report further at the meeting on this matter.

2. RECOMMENDATION

2.1 That members consider the information provided and decide appropriately.

Jack Steel
Clerk to the Parish Council
