PICKMERE PARISH COUNCIL
PROPOSED NEIGHBOURHOOD PARKING SURVEY – DRAFT
Over the last few years, the council has regularly contacted Cheshire East (CE) regarding the parking
issues in the village. We have had a few small successes but in general CE has not responded or
acknowledge our requests for meetings, support, or improvements.
We know that the police have completed a small survey, but we have not received the results, as
yet, and the questions did not really address the issue of parking directly or ask all of the residents.
With this in mind this questionnaire is designed to give all residents an opportunity to give some
feedback to the CE about what we would like to see done in regard to the parking around the village.
Whist we recognise that there are many areas of the village that are affected we have focused on
the five main roads that are primarily affected by the majority of parking problems. The
questionnaire is not designed to cover all the issues, just those of parking control.
The results of this survey will be converted into graphical information and used in the following
ways:
1. Published for all residents to see.
2. The Parish Council will use it to direct their focus towards CE, based on residents’ views.
3. CE will have a resource which is specifically evidencing residents’ views.
4. It will reinforce the fact that there are parking issues in the village to CE.
The five roads this focuses on are Jacobs Way, Mere Lane, The Orchards, Park Lane & Clover Drive.
