Following from the recent resignation of one of our parish councillors, as she has moved out of the Parish, there will be an election for a replacement councillor. The nomination period for candidates opened today 29 March; it is not a long period, expiring at 4.00 pm on Thursday 8 April, and the nomination requirements are very specific.
Nominations can only be submitted to Cheshire East Council. The full information is provided on the document at this link NOTICE FOR ELECTION.
Please note that if there are two or more candidates, the election will proceed as described.
If there is only one candidate, that candidate will be elected unopposed.
If there are no candidates, the Parish Council will be free to co-opt a new councillor.
