The Council is proceeding with the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. Cheshire East Council has formally confirmed the designation of the Pickmere Neighbourhood Area – that is the area that will be the subject of the Plan. The designation document can be found at this link.
The plan was launched at two events in March 2022.
Following an initial survey of residents in the parish, the survey details have been analysed and summaries presented at the two launches with feedback noted. A report ‘Protecting and Enhancing Pickmere’s Natural Environment’ has been prepared by ecological consultants, and an initial draft of possible policies and text has been prepared by the Council’s planning consultant.
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group are considering how to proceed at the present time.
The Steering Group comprises the following four parish councillors and four local residents, although three residents’ spaces are currently vacant:

At its meeting in March 2023, the Council decided not to progress the Plan until after the council elections of May 2023.
