As previously explained, the Council has decided to proceed with the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish.  A sub-group of Parish Councillors is progressing the early stages of the plan process, including formally advising Cheshire East Council of the intention to prepare such a plan, and applying for Government grant toward the costs of preparation.  The sub-group is also giving consideration to the ways in which the Pickmere community can be involved in the plan preparation process.

Cheshire East Council has now formally confirmed the designation of the Pickmere Neighbourhood Area – that is the area that will be the subject of the Plan.  The designation document can be found at this link.

The Parish Council considered an update on progress at its meeting on 4th May and as a result a flyer is to be printed and distributed to all households and businesses in the parish in the next two or three weeks. The flyer will:

  • briefly explain the nature of the plan;
  • ask for volunteers to join the Steering Group the Council is to set up to assist the Council to lead the plan process.

The flyer will be coming through your door shortly!

Please keep an eye on Pickmere Press, the Council’s Facebook page and this webpage to stay up to date with the process.
