The Council is proceeding with the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. Cheshire East Council has formally confirmed the designation of the Pickmere Neighbourhood Area – that is the area that will be the subject of the Plan. The designation document can be found at this link.
Government grant has now been received for expenditure on the plan during the current financial year, including on the employment of a planning consultant to assist with the process.
The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has now formed. The Group is responsible for taking forward the Plan, reporting back to the Parish Council. It comprises the following four parish councillors and four local residents:
|· Cllr Simon Read
· Cllr Alison Bold
· Cllr Sarah Flannery
· Cllr Chris Tarrant
|· Gavin Erlam
· Liz McGrath
· Wendy Rimmer
· Steve Wilkinson
The Group has now started to meet on a regular basis. A timeline for project steps has been discussed and initial briefing and residents’ questionnaire documents have been drafted and discussed. Evidence gathering for the Plan has been discussed at length. The next main step is the formal launch of the Plan in the Parish and the issue of a parish-wide survey.
The formal launch of the Neighbourhood Plan which was to be held on 18th January 2022 at Pickmere Village Hall, between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm, and the proposed informal launch, which was to take place at the Red Lion PH on 15 January 2022 have unfortunately been CANCELLED, in recognition of the continuing need to reduce personal contact as a result of the Covid pandemic. Alternative dates will be publicised as soon as we can.
Please keep an eye on Pickmere Press, the Council’s Facebook page and this webpage to stay up to date with the process.
