As previously explained, the Council has decided to proceed with the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. A sub-group of Parish Councillors is progressing the early stages of the plan process, including formally advising Cheshire East Council of the intention to prepare such a plan, and applying for Government grant toward the costs of preparation. The sub-group is also giving consideration to the ways in which the Pickmere community can be involved in the plan preparation process.
Cheshire East Council has now formally confirmed the designation of the Pickmere Neighbourhood Area – that is the area that will be the subject of the Plan. The designation document can be found at this link.
The Parish Council considered an update on progress at its meeting on 4th May and as a result a flyer was printed and distributed to all households and businesses in the parish. The flyer :
- briefly explained the nature of the plan;
- asked for volunteers to join the Steering Group the Council is to set up to assist the Council to lead the plan process.
A number of volunteers have now put their names forward and these will be considered by the working group of councillors in the next couple of weeks.
Please keep an eye on Pickmere Press, the Council’s Facebook page and this webpage to stay up to date with the process.
