AGENDA ITEM 9.4 HIRE OF VILLAGE HALL BY PUPPET COMPANY
1. REPORT
1.1 Members have been made aware that the Hall was booked each day during the week beginning
28 March for a locally based puppet company to rehearse their show(s).
1.2 The company is a non-profit organisation based in Knutsford which produces puppet shows for
all ages. Information on the company is appended.
1.3 The company is very pleased with the size and nature of the Hall both as a rehearsal space, but
also as a potential performance venue. The company has suggested that it could give a
performance at the Village Hall at some time in the future if this was thought desirable. This
would reflect the type of activity that was carried out at the Hall in years gone by but is now a
rare event.
1.4 Members are asked if this would be something that the Council would wish to support in
principle – i.e. hire or otherwise make available the Hall to the company. If so further
discussions could take place in respect of the potential details of such a performance and any
logistics which may need to be resolved.
2. RECOMMENDATION
2.1 That the report be noted and members consider the matter.
