AGENDA ITEM 9.2 DRAFT MINUTES OF PARISH MEETING HELD ON 29 NOVEMBER 2022
1. REPORT
1.1 A Parish Meeting was called by 12 electors of the parish on 29 November 2022 to discuss the PC’s proposal to erect a fence at the IROS. The meeting was attended by 55 electors of the parish and by approximately 5 non-residents. The draft minutes of that meeting are appended; they can only be confirmed by the holding of a further Parish Meeting.
1.2 Clearly the discussion of the meeting is of interest to Council, and it is appropriate for Council to consider in that context whether there is any action it wishes to take. An element of this consideration is whether the additional information provided through the recent events and the holding of the Parish Meeting warrant any change of approach on the PC’s behalf.
1.3 One aspect of the matter which Council has not formally considered is the unresolved question of how the Council is able to ensure it can access its own land to undertake works that are deemed necessary and/or appropriate by Council. This perhaps is an aspect which might be the subject of consideration in parallel to any other action that Council might wish to pursue in the light of the Parish Meeting.
