AGENDA ITEM 9.3 COFFEE MORNINGS AT VILLAGE HALL
1. REPORT
1.1 During the winter, following from the spike in energy prices, a group of Pickmere residents organised weekly coffee mornings at the Village Hall. All are invited and it is understood that visitors are not charged for refreshments. The events have proved very popular and continue.
1.2 The Parish Council decided that, on the basis of the events not being income-generating and since they served the Pickmere community, the organisers should not be charged the usual Village Hall hire rate of £6/hour. However, the outgoing Parish Council also decided that that particular question should be reviewed by the incoming Council at an early meeting. Accordingly it is presented here for consideration.
2. RECOMMENDATION
2.1 That members consider whether the weekly coffee mornings at the Village Hall should continue on the basis of no hire fee being charged and decide accordingly.
